I would like to start a dialogue about what is Primary Care's role in the US health system and how do we get the attention of the "right" people to better invest in primary care
The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth
Welcome!
The Primary Care Research Institute is revolutionizing the approach to primary care research by developing collaborative partnerships within and outside the institution to improve the health and lives of the people of Texas through interdisciplinary and translational research and education. By blurring the lines between primary care and public health research, we can develop, study, and implement new research into clinical practice to better the lives of all people regardless of age, gender, race/ethnicity, or income.
The purpose of this blog is to function as a communication and dissemination modality for clinicians, researchers and our research participants.
As the director of the Primary Care Research Institute (PCRI) at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, I strive to provide a forum of communication among those interested and conducting primary care research. Although a practicing family physician, I have the joy of working with medical, public health, and basic science students at UNTHSC. My research focuses in the areas of health disparities, cardiovascular health, medication adherence, cancer screening, and patient-clinician communication. Thank you for viewing our blog!
